3. Preparing a Study Plan
GATE exam’s each section has its own different weightage hence a study plan is important. Hence, dividing time among all the sections is necessary. Each section should be practised every day. If Aptitude is given 1-hour daily study and so is engineering mathematics then the core subjects should be given at least 2 hours for preparation. Important and major topics should be covered first.
Try to make notes, notes in your handwriting makes memorizing things faster and effortless. But don’t opt donkey work over smart work, which means you need to write only those points that are important or comes under ‘most important ones’. Try making such a schedule which is practically possible for you to follow, don’t overwhelm yourself by my making hectic schedules.
4. Practising Questions

Practising Model papers, Mock Tests and previous year questions papers give you an idea about important questions and the type of questions that can be asked. And for Advance Study, as you start referring to questions start marking them as follows:
For instance, for a question, the correct answer comes in
First attempt – do not mark
In the Second attempt – mark it with integer 3
in the Third attempt – mark it with 2
The questions whose solutions seems tricky, their solutions should be seen and understand it and mark that question as 1 after successfully attempting that again.
Hence, revising during exams is an easier task this way, the follow up of questions will be from questions with sign 1, 2, 3 and so on. This will make your revision better and faster. Must note Revisions are extremely important, hence should be done periodically.
