1. Last-Minute Learning New Concepts
Many candidates have the tendency to read the new topics before the exam. To grasp the untouched part of the syllabus before the exam is the common mistake which is common among candidates. This practice should be avoided as any new or uncleared information can create confusion in mind.

So, revising the preparation notes is better option compare to study new concepts. With the proper revision, the examinee would be able to recall the information properly.
2. Stuck on Tricky Questions
Being the CAT aspirants, you should know the CAT exam pattern i.e. Sections and sectional time duration, question format and their marking scheme. You have only 60 minutes to attempt each section. But if you get stuck in solving a tricky question (in any section) due to lack of conceptual clarity then, it may take more time than expected and hence, you will not be able to attempt the remaining questions properly from the section and thus, depression begins to set in.
Keep in mind about the negative marking, if you face any tricky question and you are not confident about it then it is wise to skip the question for the later.
3. An Absence of Consistency in Focus and Motivation
To get the best result of your CAT preparation, you need to focus, be determined and stay motivated. Motivation in the study and preparation is mandatory. Visit your friends and seniors for guidance and motivate yourself.

4. Take the Sections Easy Going
CAT online exam has three sections – Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA).
Usually, students ignore preparing any section properly feeling the easy section and hence don’t even bother to look at the basic funda of that section. Some students tend to skip VARC topics while engineers ignore the QA section assuming they can easily crack it, which must be avoided. All the exam section are very important for overall CAT percentile, so revise them properly in this last week.
5. Don’t let your Mind go through the Negative Thoughts
Your mindset before and during the CAT exam can affect your test-taking ability, therefore, you must avoid any negative thoughts, fear of competition or overthink. This can cause stress and lower morale. You must keep yourself relaxed and confident.
6. Nightout Before Exam
Sleepless Nights is another mistake that CAT Aspirants must avoid. Sleep well before 4-5 CAT day is of utmost importance for relaxed and focussed mind on exam day. A good sleep before the exam will improve the orientation for the test that helps to improve your CAT percentile.
