Biotechnology refers to a study which is based on laboratory work, computer application and researches deals with medicines, agriculture, and cell or seed technology. Candidates who have completed or are in final year of engineering can apply for GATE 2019 exam in Biotechnology Subject.
GATE 2019 will be conducted by IIT Madras through an online mode. The exam will be conducted in eight zones across the country with the help of Ministry of Human Recourses and Development.

Analytical Techniques: Principles of microscopy-light, electron, fluorescent and confocal; Centrifugation- high speed and ultra; Principles of spectroscopy-UV, visible, CD, IR, FTIR, Raman, MS, NMR Immunology: History of Immunology; Innate, humoral and Cell Mediated Immunity; Antigen; Antibody structure and function; Molecular basis of antibody diversity; Synthesis of antibody and secretion. Bioinformatics: Major bioinformatic resources and search tools; Sequence and structure databases; Sequence analysis (biomolecular sequence file formats, scoring matrices, sequence alignment, phylogeny). |

GATE 2019 Biotechnology Exam Pattern
GATE 2019 Biotechnology examination has the time duration of 3 hours. The examination paper consists of 65 questions which carry 100 marks. Numerical answer type (NAT) questions and multiple choice questions (MCQ) both will be present in the question paper. Negative markings will be there for MCQ types but no negative markings for a wrong answer in NAT questions.
