- Legal Aptitude
In this Legal Aptitude section, it is not to understand the law but to know how to apply it to the given facts. This section will test your legal reasoning, not legal knowledge) Students must have a good reading speed and quick analyzing capacity to crack this section.
Most of the legal aptitude questions are being repeated year by year so don’t forget to go through the previous year papers.
- English
For English – Just like other exams CLAT too has a word pool but you need to enrich your vocabulary as well as practice comprehensions. The proficiency of candidates will be tested on the basis of comprehension passages and grammar. Some topics are being repeated regularly just figure out those and make your own grammatical chart on them. The vocabulary of the candidates should be very good as it is important in such competitive exam.
- General Knowledge
The candidates must focus on current happenings and they should also be aware of general knowledge by reading newspapers, magazines, Yearbook etc. you can also download some good apps for the current affair and current affair quiz.
- Mathematical Ability
Most of the candidates have fear of Mathematics. As far as Mathematics is concerned, browse through previous year papers and try to find out the section with most number of questions.
There is no worry about this section because only 10% of questions will be asked to solve. In this section, candidates will be tested on the basis of elementary mathematics and fundamentals of standard X level. You need to practice more on concepts, prepare a list of some sections and then practice their questions.
- Logical Ability
This section has two parts – i.e. critical and analytical reasoning. This section will test candidate’s ability to identify patterns and rectify illogical arguments. They can master in this section by preparing old question papers. If one is not sure about the answers there is no harm in leaving questions since there is negative marking involved.

Tips For CLAT 2018 Preparation and Strategy
If you really want to crack the CLAT then you have to spend more and more time on preparation now, when you put extraordinary effort then you are capable of scoring good marks.
- Make Schedule
Candidates should very importantly make a study schedule for the preparation of CLAT on the basis of daily, weekly to cover all their studies on time. Divide your time according to the subject and keep it in your mind that how much time you will give to each subject in your exam.
- Study Material, Books and Guidance
Students can buy study material according to the CLAT Syllabus. If you attempting CLAT for the first time, get the proper guidance either from those who are in this field or from online readings. They can also take suggestions from their seniors or teachers or tutors. It will be easy to study if one will follow the syllabus properly.
All the subjects of CLAT cannot be mastered in just one month, but there are some subjects i.e. current affair, logical reasoning and legal aptitude to which you can devote about 60%.
- Notes Preparation
Candidates must prepare notes from books and study material according to the subjects because it is the easiest way to revise later at the time of the exam.
- Reading Current Affairs
Read the newspaper magazines and social articles to update yourself on your country, world, and society.
- Joining Coaching
Candidates should have to decide if they want to study by themselves or from the reputed coaching centers. Self-study is compulsory but also the guidance provided by the experienced faculty can also be very supportive.
- Depth Study
Candidates should remember one thing that just studies, study and keep studying will make your success in CLAT. Reputed coaching and the expensive books cannot help you if you are not studying with depth concentration.

Candidates can judge themselves by solving CLAT sample papers. They will get much benefit and get to know about your preparation. The more you solve the sample papers the more you improve yourself to fight for CLAT.
The most important tip is attempt CLAT Mock test, which will help you to streamline your preparation by identifying your weakness and also help to recognize whether you have improved or not. Anyone appearing for the CLAT should attempt at least 15 mock test in last month.

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2018) to be conducted by NUALS Kochi (National University of Advanced Legal Studies Kochi) on May 13, 2018, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, is a national level entrance exam for seeking admissions to five-year integrated law programmes (BA LLB, BCom LLB, B.Sc LLB and BBA LLB) offered by 19 National Law Universities (NLUs) of India.
