CMAT, the popular Management Entrance examination among MBA aspirants, will be conducted on January 28, 2019, by National Testing Agency (NTA) unlike the all the previous years it was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is high time to Prepare CMAT 2019, as only 4 months are remaining for the final show. CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) is a national level entrance examination for entry into management programmes. This year due to the instructions of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, CMAT 2019 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Before 2017, CMAT used to be conducted 2 times per year but since 2017 only it is just a single day online Test which will be conducted on January 28, 2019.
The CMAT is a three-hour online test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.
This test facilitates Institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission in all Management programs (PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management), MBA (Masters in Business Administration), PGCM (Post Graduate Course in Management), Executive PGDM, etc.). The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.
CMAT 2019 Eligibility
- No age limit
- The applicant can be a final year graduation student or undergraduate.
- 50% marks for general and 45% marks for ST/SCs at graduation level.
- Must be an Indian Citizen

- Fill examination form requisite information
- Fill the 3 cities as exam center preferences
- Payment of CMAT application fee through Cash deposit at SBI Bank, Debit/ Credit Card, Net-banking.
- Successful entering the required information, submit the Online form. Success message with application number will be displayed and mailed to your email id.

AICT E prescribes the paper pattern of CMAT 2019. CMAT 2019 is an online test of 3 hours duration. It comprises of a total 100 question divided among Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. The questions are approximately divided in the following manner:

The exam paper would only be having a single medium i.e. English. All the sections have equal weightage. For each correct answer, 4 marks would be rewarded and for each incorrect answer, 1 mark would be deducted. For an unattempted question, there is neither negative nor positive markings.

Tips to Prepare CMAT 2019

Keep Yourself Updated
General awareness is an important part of the CMAT 2019 which can only be prepared by regularly reading newspapers and current affairs magazines. Candidate must try to keep in touch with all the affairs occuring worldwide in all aspects say sports, politics, events etc.

Prepare Short Notes
Candidate will have to learn many formulas in order to prepare for quantitative ability and data interpretation, so maintaining a good formula book would be great. So that all the formulas can be aggregated in a single book which reduces the wastage of time during revision.

Explicit Tricks
Inorder to prepare for logical reasoning and quantitative ability, learning tricks to solve questions is not a good option. Instead of learning, one must try to create their own tricka and shortcuts.

Revision is MUST
There would be hundreds of tricks and concepts you would need to solve questions, and revision will help you to make the best of your hard work on your previous topics. During planning for a Schedule always make time for revisions.

Time Management
The syllabus for any test is never ending, so managing your time among all the sections equally is really important. Try to cover all the important topics first and practice them for a longer time. Try to spend more time on the revision to make a great command on fundamentals.

Mock Tests and Previous Year Papers
To prepare for any test efficiently, solving mock tests and previous papers is must, they give a clear picture of how you need to prepare, what you need to prepare and what are the topics you are lagging at. They help you see the bigger picture of the test.
Sectionwise Preparation strategy
Quantitative Ability: Try to invest 50-60 minutes daily on this section. QUANT section always has easier questions, based on fundamental concepts. Try to solve maximum questions on topics which are frequently asked and make formula book to write their short notes.
Logical Reasoning: It requires more focus and presence of mind, Try to invest 1-1.30 hours daily on the Logical part. It requires the maximum practice of questions, as many questions you would practice as faster you are likely to understand the concept.
Language Comprehension: It includes 2–3 Reading Comprehension’s covering around 12 questions, Vocab based questions and also some Grammar questions and that much is okay for a single day, but make sure all the questions are distinct. Devote approximately 50 minutes to Language Comprehension would be enough.
General Awareness: CMAT 2019 GK syllabus is vast. It even includes a few Pictorial questions which have famous entities from Indian sportsperson to Chinese philosophers. Preparing GK would be a little difficult because there is no such particular book for that, it requires reading a newspaper and watching the news on a daily basis.
