The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi has announced the dates for Post Qualification Course in International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT – AT) May 2018. This test is open to the ICAI members only, which is scheduled for the month of May this year.
Globalization of economies, signing and review of free trade agreements, increase in the number of cross-border transactions, mergers, acquisitions, tax treaties, transfer pricing etc. have created the need to know the international tax laws.
To build the capacities in the area of international taxation, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) with the approval of Ministry of Corporate Affairs has brought out a Post Qualification Diploma in International Taxation for its members.
Interested and eligible candidates can obtain the application form from regional and branch offices of ICAI on payment of INR 100 or can be downloaded from the ICAI official website. Objectives of Diploma in International Taxation
- To gain working knowledge of the provisions of International taxation laws.
- To acquire an analytical approach to apply the working knowledge to specific problem areas in a variety of practical situations.
Course Structure of International Taxation
- The Diploma in International Taxation shall include 120 hours International taxation Professional Training (INTT-PT)and Assessment Test (INTT-AT).
- A candidate who has successfully passed the Diploma in International Taxation shall be awarded a Diploma certificate in the appropriate form and be entitled to use the letters‘DIIT (ICAI)’ after his name.

Eligibility Criteria for INTT-AT
Members who had already undergone Professional Training conducted by Committee on International Taxation and have been issued Eligibility Certificate by them are eligible to appear in the International Taxation Assessment Test (INTT-AT)

Examination Fee
Cost of Application Form: Rs. 100/-
Without late fee: Rs.2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only)
With late fee: Rs.600/- (Rupees Six Hundred Only) extra with the examination fees i.e total Rs 2600/- (Rupees Two Thousand Six Hundred Only)
Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred) extra to above fees if the examination form is downloaded from the Institute’s website.
(Note: Candidates are advised not to send any fee other than examination fee along with the Examination Application Form)
Mode of Payment
The Examination Fee should be paid only by way of Demand Draft which may be of any Scheduled Bank. Drawn in favour of “The Secretary, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India” and should be payable at New Delhi only. Candidates are advised to furnish the following details on the reverse of the Demand Draft in their own interest.

Examination Centres
The assessment test will be conducted in all the major cities over the country. 192 Cities have been finalized as the test centres in the country provided that a sufficient number of candidates offer themselves to appear therefrom.
How the Application Form to Reach the Institute?
Aspirants should send the application form together with a copy of their Membership Certificate and Demand Draft towards examination fee, of any Scheduled Bank, be sent by Speed Post / Registered Post Only to the Joint Secretary (Exams.), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi – 110 002.
Candidates are advised to retain the receipt issued by Post Office till the receipt of Admit Card.
Candidates are advised not to send the application through courier.
Candidates should not submit/send the application forms to regional / branch offices of the Institute

International Taxation Assessment Test Syllabus
A candidate for International taxation Assessment Test shall be examined in the following subjects:
Paper 1 – International Tax – Transfer pricing (100 marks)
Syllabus – Provisions of Income-tax Act, 1961 and Income-tax Rules, 1962 relating to Transfer pricing, OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines and multinational Enterprises & tax Administration and UN Transfer Pricing guidance for Developing Countries.
Paper 2 – International Tax – Practice (100 marks)
Syllabus- a. Provisions of Income-tax Act, 1961 and Income-tax Rules, 1962, relevant to International Tax in India, Principles of International Taxation, Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements, Tax Information Exchange Agreements, Anti-Avoidance Measures etc.
- Model Tax Conventions (UN, US and OECD), Basics of International tax Structures, International Financial Centre, other issues in International Taxation which may arise from time to time like digital economy & e-commerce, financial Instruments and Trusts etc.
- Any new legislation having an impact on International Taxation, introduced from time to time.
Note: The participant will have to undergo 120 hours International taxation Professional Training (INTT-PT) which would cover the above-mentioned syllabus.
Passing Grade
A candidate for the International Taxation Assessment Test (INTT-AT) shall be declared ordinarily to have passed the examination if he/she secures at one sitting a minimum of 40 percent marks in each of the two papers and 50% marks in the aggregate of all the papers. No paper-wise exemptions will be granted.
