The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced Special Exams for Foreign Accounting Bodies candidates with whom ICAI had entered into Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) / Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This special exam is scheduled to be held only at Delhi / New Delhi Center from June 17 to June 20, 2019.
While filling in the Application Form, Candidates should read carefully, understand and follow the instructions posted on the ICAI website and retain the same for future reference. The last date for receipt of application at the Institute’s Headquarters at New Delhi is February 22, 2019 (Friday).

Special Note: There will be no change in the examination schedule even if any examination day is declared as a Public Holiday by the Central Government or any State Government.
Eligibility Criteria for ICAI Special Exam
- Candidate should be registered with the ICAI.
- ICAI has issued the registration letter.

Subjects to be Cleared for Foreign Accounting Bodies Candidates
A) CPA Australia Members
The following subjects are required to pass by CPA Australia members:
(i) Corporate & Allied Laws
(ii) Taxation
(iii) Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics (Not applicable if the candidate had studied Assurance Services & Auditing in CPA Program.)
(iv) Financial Reporting (Not applicable if Candidates had studied Financial Reporting & Disclosure in the CPA Program)
B) CPA-Ireland Members
The following subjects are required by CPA Ireland Members to pass:
(i) Corporate and Allied Laws
(ii) Direct and Indirect Taxes
(iii) Strategic Financial Management (Not applicable if candidates had studied Strategic Corporate Finance as an
elective in CPA examinations.)
(iv) Advanced Auditing & Professional Ethics (Not applicable if candidates had studied Audit Practice & Assurance
Services in CPA examinations.)
C) CPA-Canada Members
The following subjects are required by CPA Canada Members to pass:
(i) Corporate and Allied Laws
(ii) Taxation
D) SAICA Members
The following subjects are required by SAICA Members to pass
(i) Company Law
(ii) Taxation
(iii) Information Systems Control And Audit

How should ICAI Application Form reach the Institute?
The completely filled application form can be sent through Speed Post or Registered Post only in the special envelope attached to the Examination Form to the –

Some advice for the applicants –
- An application should be complete as per requisite else it is liable to be rejected.
- while sending the application form, retain the receipt issued by Post Office till the receipt of Admit Card.
- Not to send the application form through private courier.
- Not to submit/send the application form to regional/branch offices of the Institute.
- The admission shall become invalid, in the event of furnishing any incorrect information misrepresentation,
Release of Admit Card
The Admit Cards for the Special Examination of Foreign Accounting Bodies members with whom the ICAI had entered into MRA / MoU will be e-mailed to applicants latest by 28th February 2019 (Tentative).
Passing Mark for ICAI Special Examination
In order to qualify the Special Examination, a candidate for the Special Examination for Foreign Accounting Bodies Members with whom the ICAI had entered into MRA / MoU shall be declared ordinarily to have passed the examination if he/she obtains a minimum of 40% marks in individual paper at one sitting and a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers required to appear and pass.
ICAI Statement of Marks and Pass Certificate
Statement of Marks in Special Examination for Foreign Accounting Bodies Members with whom the ICAI had entered into MRA / MoU, will be issued to all the candidates normally in two weeks from the date of declaration of the result. The pass certificate to the candidates declared passed in the exam will be issued subsequently.
