Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, IIM Kozhikode Commenced the 23rd Post Graduate Program (PGP) batch and 13th Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) batch on July 3, 2019. IIMK begins its new batch with a record strength of students and a balanced diverse batch.
An event to welcome new batch was conducted in the presence of Chief Guest Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, academia and the students of IIMK. IIM Kozhikode new batch includes 16 students for the FPM (PhD) programme and 485 students for the PGP (MBA) programme.
IIM Kozhikode 23rd PGP Batch Profile
IIMK is one of the pioneer institutes among IIMs in gender and academic diversity. This year Supernumerary addition of 60 female candidates has also contributed positively to the increase in gender diversity at IIMK which much higher than the national average. Moreover this year, the Institute is admitting a modest number of EWS (Economically Weaker Section) candidates, in convergence with the national policy.

Commenting on the need for diversity in the classroom, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIMK said in a statement “In a meritocracy, talent is dispersed in multiple demographic and socio-economic spaces. IIMK bets on enhancing the quality of teaching and learning by making its classrooms more diverse and inclusive”.
IIM Kozhikode Admission Process
IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria 2019-21 was a three-step process. The three-stages of selection criteria were:
- Eligibility criteria for admission
- Shortlisting Criteria for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)
- Final Admission Selection criteria
IIM Kozhikode Admission Cut Off
IIM Kozhikode Cutoff 2019 defined that the candidates of different categories above the minimum cut-offs in the CAT 2018 sectional percentile ranks, the overall percentile rank and obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT 2018 exam would be considered for all the subsequent stages.

IIM Kozhikode Shortlisting Weightage
IIM Kozhikode shortlisted the candidates for WAT & PI stage on the basis of three parameters which were arrived at by accounting for CAT 2018 score, academic scores, and academic diversity. There was no weightage to the academic scores beyond class 12:
A shortlist of candidates in each category was created based on an Aggregate Index Score (AIS). The AIS was computed based on the performance in CAT 2018, Class XII marks and Academic Diversity. The weight of each component in the AIS is as follows:

- All the shortlisted candidates had to participate in Final selection round for admission to IIM Kozhikode
- IIM Kozhikode final selection criteria are based on CAT 2018 score, Essay Writing Test, personal Interview and Resume of the candidate.
