After Graduation Career Counseling Discussion

1) Mining Engineering (70%)

2) General Aptitude (15%)

3) Engineering Mathematics (15%)

The paper has 2 type of questions namely, MCQs (multiple choice questions)  and numeric types questions which are to be answered on virtual keyboard via mouse. The marks awarded for both typed question can be 1 or 2 depending upon the score a question carries. For negative marking, it is 1/3 for 1 marker and 2/3 for 2 marker multiple choice questions. No negative marking is there for numeric type questions.

The aptitude problems are based on basic math and English skills and are very easy. They do not require much preparation. The course for the Mathematics portion is vast but the questions asked are relatively easy. It would be better to cover all the topics as it is the high scoring portion. Most questions are short and based on direct application of formulae.

The most important part is the Engineering part. This section is comparatively difficult and requires sincere effort. The questions that asked will be of graduation level. The total marks of the GATE MN paper will be 100.
