UPSC Civil Services 2019: The online registration of Union Public Service Commission, UPSC Civil Services 2019 Prelims exam has begun from February 19, 2019. A total of 896 vacancies including 39 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category have been announced in the UPSC Civil Services 2019 Notification.
The Civil services examination (CSE) 2019 prelims will be conducted on June 2, 2019. UPSC has released the official notification regarding Civil Services Examination 2019 on its website and has started online application process from February 19, 2019. The deadline for submission of online application for civil services exam 2019 is at 6:00 pm on March 18, 2019.
Candidates interested for IAS/ IPS/ IFS can register online for the examination. The application forms have been uploaded online at the official website of UPSC. UPSC Civil Service IAS IPS 2019 registration has begun from February 19. Check the official notification and all important details regarding exam dates, eligibility, exam pattern etc here.
The UPSC civil services main examination will be conducted on September 20, 2019, which will be held for five days. The main examination for UPSC Indian Forest Service (IFS) will be conducted on December 1, 2019, for 10 days duration.

UPSC Civil Services 2019 Eligibility
The applicant must be an Indian National to be eligible for IAS and IPS posts and services.
Education Qualification: The candidate must hold a bachelor degree from a recognized university incorporated by an Act of Central OR State Legislature in India OR Other educational institution established by Parliament Act OR announced to be deemed university under section-3 of the UGCA), 1956 or have an equivalent degree.
Age Limit: A candidate must have a minimum age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2019 i.e., he must have been born after 01st August, 1987 and before than 1st August, 1998. There is upper age relaxation for reserved category.
Number of Attempts: Every candidate appearing at the UPSC Civil Services examination shall be permitted six attempts at the examination. There is relaxation in the number of attempt as per government reservation policies.

How to Apply for UPSC Prelims 2019?
Interested and eligible Candidates are required to apply Online by using the UPSC Official website. Candidates are advised to read the complete instructions carefully before the registration.
UPSC CSE Registration Fee
Candidates (except female/SC/ST/persons with Benchmark disability candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100 (One Hundred only) by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card or by using Internet Banking of SBI.
UPSC Recruitment Process
The UPSC recruitment consists of a three-level exam including Prelims Exam, Mains Exam and Interview round. Candidates have to qualify all three levels.
UPSC Exam Pattern
The Civil Services Preliminary exam comprises of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each (General Ability Test and General Studies Paper II). Both the questions paper will be of objective type multiple choice and will be of 2 hours duration. The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper for the main exam with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
The Civil Services Main exam will be of 1750 marks while interview has 275 marks. The final selection would be based on the combined Merit score of Mains Exam and interview round.
Negative Marking
Candidates should note that there will be negative marking for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers. The penalty for the wrong answer will be of one-third of the marks assigned to that question.
