CA Final May 2018 (Old and New Scheme) Exam Time Table Announced by ICAI

CA Final is the last level of Chartered Accountancy examinations. A person can take the Final Examination after passing CA Intermediate course (IPCC in old scheme) and 2.5 years of articleship. The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the date sheet for CA Final May 2018 exam.

The Exam Schedule for CA Final May 2018 as per new scheme and existing scheme will begin from Wednesday, May 02, 2018. This post contains the complete details of CA Final Time Table, Fees, Exam Date Sheet for Group 1 and Group 2, for May 2018 Exams.

It is considered as one of the toughest exams in the world. Any person who has passed both the groups of IPCC, during the last six months of articleship can take the Final Examination. CA Final May 2018 exam, as per new scheme and old scheme has two groups of total eight subjects, 4 subjects in each group of 100 marks each. This exam consists of two groups of four subjects each.

CA Final Time Table for May 2018 will have a gap of one day each between each exam. Students must note that the timings of the CA Final May 2018 exams are from 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM, earlier it used to be conducted in afternoon session.

A passing grade in Final is awarded if the candidate obtains 40% marks in each subject and an aggregate of 50% in the aggregate in each group. The benefit of set-off is also available if the candidate appears for both groups together and obtains 50% collectively in both groups, even if he fails to obtain an individual aggregate of 50% in each group independently.

CA Final Course Examination (Under Existing Scheme)

Group I:

• Paper 1: Financial Reporting
• Paper 2: Strategic Financial Management
• Paper 3: Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics
• Paper 4: Corporate and Allied Laws

Group II:

• Paper 5: Advanced Management Accounting
• Paper 6: Information Systems Control and Audit
• Paper 7: Direct Tax Laws
• Paper 8: Indirect Tax Laws

CA Final Course Examination (Under Revised Scheme)

Under the new CA Final Revised Syllabus, ISCA has been removed. Instead, Paper 6 is made as an ‘Elective Paper’. Students can choose any of the below mentioned Optional papers. Also, Paper 8, Indirect Tax part will have GST for 75 Marks and Customs for 25 Marks. Paper 5 will now be Strategic Cost Management and Performance Evaluation.

• Paper 1 : Financial Reporting
• Paper 2 : Strategic Financial Management
• Paper 3 : Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics
• Paper 4 : Corporate and Economic Laws

Group II:

• Paper 5 : Strategic Cost Management & Performance Evaluation
• Paper 6 : Elective Paper (Risk Management/ Financial Services & Capital markets/ International taxation / Economic laws)
• Paper 7 : Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation
• Paper 8 : Indirect Tax Laws

CA Final May 2018 (Old Scheme) Examination Time Table

CA Final May 2018 Examination Fee

The examination fees for CA Final Course Examinations {Existing and Revised Scheme} is as follows –

• Applications for admission to Intermediate (IPC) examinations are required to apply online at http://icaiexam.icai.orgfrom February 5, 2018, to February 26, 2018, and remit the examination fee online by using VISA or MASTER Credit / Debit Card.
• Additional INR 600/- (for Domestic & Kathmandu centres) and US$ 10 (for Overseas centres) towards late fee remit in case the application online is made after February 26, 2018, and up to March 05, 2018.

Study Plan for CA Final May 2018 Exam

Students are advised to draw your own CA Final Study Time Table and Schedule for May 2018 exam for both preparation and revision. AfterGraduation recommend

• Students to spend at least 3 hours a day, for 3 months, for preparing for Group 1.
• Study Smart and practice most topics in the book.
• Students to spend at least 2 hours a day, for 2 months, for preparing for Group 2.
• Allocate sufficient time for Tax and Accounts in your Study Time Table for May 2018 exam, as both are scoring subjects.
• CA Final May 2018 exam will have a good number of amendments in Taxpaper, so keep that in mind.
• CA Final May 2018 paper is likely going to be lengthy and tricky, so students are advised to practice more and more practical problems, by putting more importance on practice manual into the study timetable.

• Please note that sale & submission of OMR examination application form has been discontinued w.e.f. May 2017 examinations onwards.
