The India Meteorological Department (IMD) have started recruitment process for the 1102 vacant post of Scientific Assistant. The Scientific Assistant in India Meteorological Department carries an All India Service Liability (AISL) which means that if selected, the applicant will be asked to serve anywhere in the country.
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct a open competitive examination for recruiting the candidates for the post of Scientific Assistant in IMD, Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post, in the Level 6 of the Pay Matrix (Pay Band 2 (Rs 9300-34800) plus Grade Pay Rs 4200 in pre-revised scale), from November 20-27, 2017 in computer based mode all over the country.
The last date to fill the online application of Scientific Assistant at India Meteorological Department is August 04, 2017 upto 5 pm. Application Fees: Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only). All women /SC /ST/PH categories candidates are exempted from paying application fee.

Eligibility Criteria for IMD Vacancy
Age : The candidate should not exceed 30 years as on August 4, 2017 but there are some relaxation depending upon various reserved categories.
Education Qualification : Anyone holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (with Physics as one of the subject)/ Computer Science/Information Technology/ Computer Applications or a Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from a recognised Institution/University or equivalent are eligible to apply.
However, the candidates should have the qualifying degree in First Class (60% marks) or 6.75 CGPA on a 10 point scale secured over a period of three (3) years duration after (10+2) examination.
The applicant must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognised board or equivalent in Science with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects.

- Select the “Click to Apply” under Scientific Assistant in India Meteorological Department Examination,2017.

Examination Scheme
The examination would comprise 200 questions carrying 200 marks for two hours duration. The examination would be online (computer based). The question paper would have two parts, Part – I & Part – II.
