The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has rescheduled the CA May 2020 Exams due to COVID-19 outbreak. The rescheduled CA May 2020 exams will be held in June/July 2020.
The decision to reschedule the CA examinations were made due to the ongoing lockdown imposed due to the Coronavirus spread in the country.
The ICAI in a notification said that in view of the ongoing spurt of the COVID-19 pandemic and in the interest of the wellbeing of students, the Chartered Accountant Examinations initially scheduled from May 02, 2020, to May 18, 2020, stand rescheduled and the said examinations shall now be held from June 19, 2020 to July 04, 2020 as per details shared below.
The ICAI also stated in the notification that it may be emphasized that there would be no change in the examination schedule in the event of any day of the examination schedule being declared a Public Holiday by the Central Government or any State Government/Local Holiday.

- Foundation Course Examination: 27th June, 29th June, 01st July and 03rd July 2020
- Intermediate (IPC) Course Examination (under Old Scheme):
Group-I: 20th, 22nd, 24th, and 26th June 2020
Group-II: 28th June, 30th June, & 2nd July 2020
- Intermediate Course Examination (under New Scheme):
Group-I: 20th, 22nd, 24th, and 26th June 2020
Group-II: 28th June, 30th June, 2nd July & 04th July 2020
- Final Course Examination (under Old Scheme):
Group-I: 19th, 21st, 23rd, & 25th June 2020
Group-II: 27th June, 29th June, 1st July & 03rd July 2020
- Final Course Examination (under New Scheme):
Group-I: 19th, 21st, 23rd, & 25th June 2020
Group-II: 27th June, 29th June, 1st July & 03rd July 2020
- International Trade Laws and World Trade Organization (ITL & WTO), Part 1 Examination:
Group-A: 20th & 22nd June 2020
Group-B: 24th & 26th June 2020
- International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT-AT)
27th & 29th June 2020
Foundation Course Examination is to be held along with CA Final Group–II Examinations on 27th , 29th June 2020, 1 st & 3 rd July 2020 and the Post Qualification Course Examination i.e. INTT – AT is to be held along with Final Group – II Examination on 27th & 29th June 2020, whereas ITL & WTO examination is to be held along Group – I of Intermediate (IPC) / Intermediate Examinations.

Earlier on March 26, the ICAI released the notification related to the articled training going on for the CA candidates. It has been informed to those who are already registered and undergoing articled training, that the period of absence arising out of said lockdown due to COVID -19 pandemic will not be counted for the purposes of deduction of any leaves, meaning thereby that such period shall be counted as being on articleship training for the period aforesaid.
