BITS-Pilani Higher Degree Admission 2020 Begins, Check BITS HD Admission Procedure

BITS-Pilani Higher Degree Admission 2020: Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani announces opening of the admissions for its higher degree (HD) programmes 2020-21 in Engineering, Science, Technology, and Pharmacy i.e (M.E/M.Pharam/M.Phil) to its 3 campuses Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad.

The Candidates would be admitted to BITS Pilani Higher Degree (HD) based on the BITS HD Admission Test/ GATE / GPAT score. The application process for 4 semester on-campus M.E. Programmes, 4 Semester M.Pharam. and 3 Semester M.Phil. programmes is already started from March 20, 2020.

The deadline for receiving online applications for BITS Pilani higher degree programmes (M.E/M.Pharm/M.Phil) at Pilani, K.K Birla Goa and Hyderabad Campus is April 27, 2020.

Eligibility Criteria for BITS HD-2020 Admission

Candidate must have secured a Minimum aggregate of 60% in the qualifying degree examination for M.E/M. Pharm and 55% for M.Phil Admission.

Admission to all M.E. (except Software systems) and M.Pharm. programmes will be made on the basis of BITS HD admission test score or GATE/GPAT score.

How to Apply for BITS-Pilani Higher Degree Admission?

Interested and eligible candidates should apply online through the prescribed application form available at BITS Pilani Higher Degree Admission Portal. Candidates need to pay the BITS HD Admission 2020 Application Fee online only.

Candidates are advised to take a printout of the filled-in form and keep a copy with them for further reference. However, Hard copy of submitted application form is not required to be sent to BITS Pilani.

While applying for the BITS-Pilani HD Programmes, if a candidate wishes to consider his GATE/GPAT score for admission; then they have to enter GATE score (year of GATE examination, GATE All India Rank and GATE Score) or GPAT Score details in the application form.

BITS HD Admission 2020 Application Fee

• Applicants who wish to be considered for admission through GATE/GPAT score: Rs 1000/-
• All others: Rs 3300/- (including the BITS HD online test fee)

BITS-Pilani Higher Degree Admission 2020 Procedure

For BITS-Pilani Higher Degree 2020-21 admission through BITS HD 2020 test, a candidate have to appear in the Online test conducted at designated centers in different cities. The final Admission to the higher degree programme would be made on the basis of the performance in the online test or GATE/GPAT Score.

In the process of making final admission offers to the M.E. / M.Pharm. programmes, two separate merit lists will be prepared; one based on GATE/GPAT score, and the other based on Marks obtained in BITS HD test. In each program, 50% of the seats will be filled through GATE/GPAT scores and other 50% by BITS HD 2020 test marks.

However, Admission to M.E Software Systems will be done only through the score obtained in BITS HD Entrance test.

Candidates shortlisted for the M.Phil programme will be announced on 3rd June. The test and interview for these candidates will be on 19th July and admission offers will be made on 20th July.

BITS HD 2020 Admission Test

The BITS HD 2020 Admission Test will be a computer based online test of 150 minutes duration, conducted by BITS Pilani at dedicated centers in 19 different cities of India. The online tests will be of objective type (MCQ) to be conducted on 16th and 23rd May 2020 and the candidates can choose the center to take the test. There is penalty as negative marking for incorrect answer.
