The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) on Friday announced to allow one more and the last attempt to appear in the Company Secretaries Executive Examinations under Old Syllabus (2012). As per the ICSI earlier notifications, candidates enrolled under CS Executive old syllabus of 2012 had their last attempt in December 2019 after which, those who still wished to continue with Company Secretary programme had to convert to the CS Executive new syllabus.
But as per the ICSI announcement on January 10, 2020, candidates are given one more attempt to appear for CS Executive Examinations under the old syllabus of 2012. In the latest meeting of the Council of the Institute on January 9, 2020, committee decided to give one more attempt to the students of Executive Programme (2012 Old Syllabus) to appear in the Company Secretaries Examinations i.e June 2020 Session of Examinations.
All such students who are not able to clear the CS Executive programme with old Syllabus during December 2019 Examinations session may continue to appear one more examination session i.e. June 2020 with the old syllabus 2012.
The official notification (Link to Check ICSI Announcement) also reflects that after June 2020 attempt, CS Executive students under the old syllabus shall be automatically be switched over to the Executive Programme under New syllabus of 2017.

This brings a sense of relief in candidates of old syllabus as they have one more session to appear in the syllabus they’ve prepared through.
ICSI is expected to announce results for the December 2019 session examinations in the third week of February 2020, after which, candidates will know if they need another attempt or not, so all the Best friends.
