IIM Rohtak has successfully concluded its summer placements for the PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) batch of 2016-2018, with a healthy rise of over 12% in the average stipend offered to the students from previous year. Marketing and Sales profile emerged as a preferred profile with 49 per cent of the batch opting for placements in this domain.

The institute witnessed participation of multitude of companies across varied domains. The batch of 153 students successfully availed opportunities in diversified profiles and across various functions in the organizational setup. The highest stipend for two months was Rs. 247,800, up from last year’s Rs. 234,000.

A total of 61 companies participated in the summer placement process. This year saw the institute strengthen its relationship with 25 past recruiters and established relationships with 20+ new companies including two international companies. Some of the prominent brands that came for summer internships were Arcesium, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, SEBI, United Health Group, Amazon, Dabur, Idea, Cognizant, Wipro, JSPL, Hitachi Consulting, L&T, Future Generali, IDFC Bank to name a few.

Summer Placement Summary

There were 140 students out of 153 students who went for the summer placements this year. The offers rolled out spanned across the major domains Finance , IT & Consulting, HR, Operations, Marketing & Sales and Operations.

The roles being offered for this year’s summer internship process for Marketing and Sales domain spanned across market research, B2B marketing, B2C marketing, brand strategy, brand promotion, rural marketing, sales, advertising etc. This was the most sought after domain, with 49% of the batch opting for the same. Prominent recruiters for this domain included Dabur, Amazon, Idea, L&T, United Health Group, Blue Star and Allianz Worldwide to name a few.

It was followed by 17% students going for Finance domain, in which the roles offered included General Management, Corporate Finance, Retail Banking, Portfolio Management etc. Prominent recruiters for this domain included Arcesium, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, IDFC Bank and SEBI among others.

Another 16% of the batch opted for IT and Consulting field. Students secured internships with renowned names offering roles in IT and Consulting domains which included Cognizant, Wipro, Muthoot Fincorp, Hitachi and Shree Cements to name a few.

14% of the batch offered Operation profile by companies operating in diverse industries like e-commerce, logistics and manufacturing. Companies offering operations and supply chain roles included Amazon, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd., L&T and Agrawal Packers and Movers among others.

The remaining students chose HR roles. Human resources are required to manage the roles of all other domains in any organization. Companies which offered roles in Human Resources domain to the students were Muthoot Fincorp, IPE Global, Hedge Equity and Bersavi Consulting.
