CAT 2018 application last date has been extended. The online registration process for the Common Admission Test (CAT) has been extended till September 26, which was earlier scheduled to be closed on September 19 at 05:00 pm. All the candidates who want to apply online can do so through the official website, iimcat.ac.in by 5:00 pm.
Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) in a release, notifies that the CAT 2018 application process now will be held till September 26. CAT 2018 application process can be completed on the official page, iimcat.ac.in. IIM Calcutta, the official organiser of CAT 2018, will conduct the examinations on Sunday, November 25 at different test centres in 147 cities across the country in two sessions – forenoon and afternoon.
The CAT 2018 admit card will be released on October 24, and students can download it through the official website. To understand the format of the CAT 2018 test, Tutorials will be available on the CAT website from October 17. The CAT 2018 official website also contains a section on Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) that addresses some of the common queries regarding CAT 2018. Candidates may also contact the CAT helpdesk over email or phone.
CAT 2018, the competitive entrance examination which is being conducted primarily for admission to postgraduate courses- the two year full-time management programmes and Fellowship Programmes in Management in Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) and other Business Schools.

CAT 2018 Application Process
CAT 2018 application process is completely online. Aspirants need to register for CAT 2018 through CAT website in online mode only. At the time of registration, the candidates have to select any four Test Cities as per their preference from the drop-down menu.
After the last date of registration, candidates will be allotted one among the four preferred cities subject to availability. In the rare case that a candidate is not allotted any of the preferred cities, they will be allotted a nearby city.
CAT 2018 Application Fees
The application (registration) fee for CAT 2018 is as below –
- For SC, ST and PwD category candidates – INR 950
- For all other categories of candidates – INR 1900.
According to CAT 2018 Notification, a candidate needs to pay the registration fee only once, irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying for. SC, ST and PwD candidates must upload a copy of their SC/ST/PwD certificates at the time of registration. Fee once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

CAT 2018 Correction Window
In the announcement on the official website that the candidates who have uploaded an improper/blur photograph, can login again and re-upload their photograph from September 27, 10:00 AM till September 30, 5:00 PM. This is valid only for those candidates who have paid applicable Registration Fee and have registered successfully for CAT 2018 before the specified deadline.
CAT 2018 Exam Pattern
The examination will be of 180 minutes and candidates will be allotted 60 minutes for answering questions in each below-mentioned section and they will be restricted to switch from one section to another. The questions will be in three sections —

The marking scheme for CAT 2018 is as follows:
- For the correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded for both MCQs and Non-MCQs.
- For incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted for MCQ and no marks will be deducted for a Non MCQ type question.
