IIM Amritsar has announced two-stage selection processes for Postgraduate Programme in Management (PGP) admission 2018-2020 with only 40% weightage to CAT score while 60% weightage to Personal Interview (PI), Writing Ability Test (WAT), Academics & Work Experience. Qualified candidates will be invited for IIM Amritsar PGP Admission 2018 to register and confirm their interest on its website.
For admission in 2018-20 batch of Postgraduate Programme in Management, there is a selection process consisting of two stages which are announced by the 15th IIM in the country, Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar. Candidates who had applied for IIM Amritsar PGP Admission 2018 will receive an email shortly to reconfirm their interest for the same.
IIM Amritsar is mentored by IIM Kozhikode and is one of the three newest IIMs which have concluded their final placement in 2018 with a substantial increase in the highest and average salary. On the top of it, IIM Amritsar has achieved 100% placement while its mentor IIM Kozhikode is yet to publish the placement report for 2016-18 batch.

Candidates who applied for IIM Amritsar at the time of registering for CAT 2017, there is a process to reconfirm your interest towards the same. They should register for ‘confirmation of interest’ at IIM Amritsar site. Addition to this, candidates should check their emails and visit the website of IIM Amritsar to be updated about activities related to admission. During April 2018, the candidates must complete a required registration process in the first shortlist, for admission to PGP 2018-20 batches at IIM Amritsar.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for IIM Amritsar Admission
IIM Amritsar has announced the eligibility Criteria for its PGP Admission in 2018. The minimum eligibility criterion is CAT 2017 percentile for admission in the PGP 2018-20 batch. IIM Amritsar will shortlist only those candidates in the 1st stage who fulfil its eligibility criteria.
To be short-list at IIM Amritsar, the CAT 2017 score is the single criteria. Only those candidates will be considered for the admission process who achieved positive scores in all sections of the CAT 2017 exam.

Importantly note that these cut-offs are not for admission offers whose scores could be very high. The above-mentioned criteria are intended to be minimum eligibility criteria only. The actual candidates to be finalized for admission will be shortlisted from the students from stage 1. It is to be noted that candidates will receive a call for interview if they score higher than the minimum eligibility criteria as mentioned above.
IIM Amritsar PGP Admission 2018 Selection Procedure
In the 2nd stage, only those candidates will be shortlisted for the WAT and PI round who have scored required percentage in CAT 2017 and who have successfully completed the mandatory registration for admission to PGP 2018-20.
In Final Selection at IIM Amritsar, CAT score gets only 40% weight while the PI & WAT, Academics & Work Experience, there is 60% weightage. Candidates will receive the admission offer after facing the WAT and PI at IIM Amritsar.

Applicants Exempted from IIM Amritsar PI-WAT Round
- Candidates will not need to be appear for PI if they receive a call for interview by any one or more of the IIMs at Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow for their PGP/PGPM programs.
- PI/WAT score of IIM Kozhikode will be used only if a candidate was shortlisted for PI/WAT by IIM Kozhikode.
- For all other candidates, the average of PI/WAT scores of appeared interviews from IIMs Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Lucknow will be used.
Only those candidates who have not received a call for an interview from any of the IIMs at Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow and who have registered for IIM Amritsar will be required to appear for PI /WAT.

Fees Structure
IIM Amritsar fee for PGP 2018-20 course is INR 9.0 Lakh which is lowest among all the IIMs.
IIM Amritsar Placements
IIM Amritsar has successfully concluded the Final Placement of 2016-2018 batch. Not only it has broken its past record and surpassed the salary packages of its first batch but despite the large batch size of 104 students (more than double of previous batch size of 44), the institute has achieved 100% placement with much higher offers that many well established top MBA colleges have not been able to achieve.
Seven students from the batch received attractive international offers. The highlight of 2016-18 batch placement was a huge increase in the highest package, leapfrogging three times to INR 54 LPA in 2018 from INR 17 lakhs last year.
The top 10% of students secured an average salary of INR 22.3 LPA and the average salary of the batch stood at INR 11.93 LPA with an increase of 16.28% from the previous year.

IIM Amritsar PGP Admission
IIM Amritsar is the 15th Indian Institute of Management set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development with the support of Government of Punjab in 2015. Under the direction of IIM Kozhikode, the permanent campus of the institute is being set up.
