Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the examination notification for the recruitment of 398 Assistant Commandant (AC) posts in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). UPSC has opened the application window for interested and eligible candidates. The notification for UPSC CAPF 2018 Assistant Commandants recruitment has released 398 vacancies, more than 179 vacancies that declared last year.
It is the national level entrance test scheduled to recruit the eligible candidates in Group A (Assistant Commandants) in CAPF consists of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The last date for online application is May 21, 2018. The application forms can be filled from UPSC Portal. In order to offer the recruitment to the deserving candidates, UPSC is scheduled to organize the UPSC CAPF 2018 written exam as the first stage of this recruitment on August 12, 2018. Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests. The final stage of selection will be Interview/Personality Test. CAPF 2018 Eligibility Criteria
- Interested candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Male as well as Female candidates are eligible to apply. However female candidates are not eligible to apply for ITBP.
- A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/College or possess an equivalent qualification.
- Age of candidates should be in between 20 to 25 years as on August 01, 2018. Age-relaxation rules apply.
- An NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate is desirable but not compulsory.
- Candidates must meet with minimum physical standards as specified in the official notification.
CAPF 2018 Application Form
The interested candidates can apply for CAPF 2018 only through online mode from the official website of UPSC, any other mode of application is not allowed. Applicants will have to pay a non-refundable application fee for CAPF 2018 AC exam as Rs.200/- to complete their applications. Applicants belonging to SC/ST category and female candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

CAPF 2018 Exam Centres
The test is expected to be organized at Agartala, Gangtok, Panaji (Goa), Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Patna, Aizawl, Imphal, Port, Blair, Allahabad, Itanagar, Raipur, Bangalore, Jaipur, Ranchi, Bareilly, Jammu, Sambalpur, Bhopal, Jorhat, Shillong, Chandigarh, Kochi, Shimla, Chennai, Kohima, Srinagar, Cuttack, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, Dehradun, Lucknow, Tirupati, Delhi, Madurai, Udaipur, Dharwad, Mumbai, Vishakhapatnam, Dispur, Nagpur in the year 2018.
CAPF 2018 Exam Pattern
The written examination of the UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandants recruitment will comprise of two papers. Paper I will be held from 10 a.m. to 12.00 Noon and Paper II will be held from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Paper I: General Ability and Intelligence – 250 Marks
The questions in this paper will be of Objective (Multiple Answers) Type in which the questions will be set in English as well as Hindi.
Paper II: General Studies, Essay and Comprehension – 200 Marks
In this paper, candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/ language skills will be English only.
There will be penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type question paper.
There will be minimum qualifying marks separately for each Paper. Paper-I will be evaluated first and Paper II will be evaluated only of those candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in Paper I.
For both writing and marking answers in the OMR Sheets (Answer Sheet) candidates must use black ball point pen only.

Final Selection Procedure
Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests
Candidates those have qualified in written exam will be further called for Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests (PET) and Medical Standards Tests.
Interview/Personality Test
Candidates who are found qualified in the physical test, they will be further invited to attend the Interview/Personality Test. Total marks for Interview/Personality Test will be 150.
