XAT 2020 Exam Date, Eligibility, Paper Pattern, Syllabus

XAT 2020, is scheduled to be conducted in the first week of January 2020 through online (computer-based) mode by XLRI Jamshedpur. XLRI is the regulating body of the XAT 2020 exam which will release the official notification sooner.

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), the national level MBA entrance exam, is an online test that is held annually as an admission test for postgraduate management programmes in 150 management institutions that accept XAT score.

XAT Eligibility Criteria 


It is advised that the candidates must go through the eligibility criteria to know more about the exams and its terms. Just like other examination,XAT 2020 has some of its eligibility criteria which needs to be fulfilled. Those are stated as follows :

 

  • A Bachelor’s degreeof minimum of 3 years duration is a must.
  • The students studying in Final year can also apply if they complete the degree by June,2020.
  • There is No minimum aggregate marks criteria
  • Except Dubai and Kathmandu candidates ,NRI and Foreign Candidatesare also eligible to apply on the basis of marks scored in GMAT.
  • No restriction on age
  • No restriction on the number of attempts for XAT.

The Application Form for XAT 2020 will be available in the month of August on the official website.

XAT Exam Pattern with Syllabus

XAT 2020 will be conducted online,i.e it is a computer based test. There are 4 sections in the test,thesesections are Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge.

XAT Exam Syllabus

For XAT 2020,there is no official prescribed syllabus. However,there are some important topics from where the questions are mostly covered.

Such important topics include concepts covering Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability, English Language and Reasoning, and Decision Making. These topics make up the section A of the test.

XAT Result 2020

It is expected that the results of XAT 2020 to be announced online by the end of January 2020 by XLRI Jamshedpur at xatonline.in.The students with scores that match the published cut off would be proceeded for further selection rounds of Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The validity of score is 1 year.

XAT Cutoff 2020

The cut off scores differs for different programs. A student needs to clear the cut off score for further rounds. The minimum percentage required for being considered for different programs at XLRI is tabulated here:

XAT 2020 Selection Procedure

After the cut off score is cleared by the candidate,there arefurther selection rounds. Some institutes have both GD (Group Discussion) and PI (Personal Interview) rounds, while others may only have either of the two.

In group discussion, a group of 8-15 students are formed and a topic is given. The topics are generally to current affairs, politics, trending social issues, or any other issue concerning advertising, technology, business or education etc.

Personal Interview is generally the final round of the selection process. This round mainly focuses on candidates’ background, academics, achievements and motivation behind choosing a career in management.
