Business schools process applications for MBA admission in several rounds, usually with three separate deadlines. It would thus be useful for the candidates to know exactly which are those rounds and when they should put in their applications. The application procedure in top Business Schools takes place in several rounds rather than in a single swing. Each college has its set of rounds and they declare the dates beforehand. At some point, every MBA candidate should know what are the different deadlines and when is the best time to submit his/her business school application.
In terms of application strategy, one of the biggest questions prospective MBA applicants wrestle with is whether to apply in Round 1 or Round 2 to the school they most want to attend. Applying in the first round of applications is usually advised as no seats have been filled and there is relatively lesser competition. The second round normally receives the highest number of applications, and the third round, usually being the last round, is always competitive as most of the seats are already filled by that time.
In case a candidate is applying to an MBA program in a foreign country, it is advised to apply as early as possible as they require time to move and sort out other factors. However, rushing with an application so as to make it in the earlier rounds is not a good idea as the application needs to be as strong as it can get to increase the possibility of admission. The application deadlines might vary from one applicant to other (international applicants) and are subject to change.
