The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI/ICMAI) has released the Certificate in Accounting Technicians Directorate, ICMAI CAT Course July-2020 Examination application form for Foundation Course (Entry Level). The Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) exam is to be held in 2 sessions for the eligible candidates.
The ICMAI CAT examination date is not announced by Institute due to novel coronavirus outbreak. In the morning session (10:00 A.M to 12:00 P.M ), candidates will appear for Paper I and then in the afternoon session (02:00 P.M to 4:00 P.M), they will appear for Paper-II of CMA CAT July 2020 exam.
To meet the huge demand for entry-level Accountants in India, the ICMAI in consultation with Ministry of Corporates Affairs, Government of India introduced this Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) Course, a short term Foundation level course of one-year duration for 12th (10+2) passed and Under Graduates students.
Important Dates for ICMAI CAT July-2020 Exam
Last Date for Receipt of Application Form without Late Fee: July 10, 2020 is further extended to July 18, 2020.

Paper-I: Saturday, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Morning Session
Paper-II: Saturday, 02:00 pm to 04:00 pm, After Noon Session

ICMAI CAT July 2020 Exam Application Fees
ICMAI CAT July 2020 Exam application Fees (without late fees) – Rs. 730/- (Seven Hundred Thirty Only),
Examination Fees to be paid through payment gateway by using Net-banking/Credit/Debit Card or Bank Draft of requisite fees drawn in favour of “The Institute of Cost Accountants of India” payable at New Delhi.
How to Fill ICMAI CAT July-2020 Examination Form?
The CAT Foundation Course Examination application form is available on the Institute’s website and can be filled online only. After successfully submission of the online examination form, students need to send their printed filled examination Forms along with the application fees (if not paid through the payment gateway) to the Directorate of CAT, The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, CMA Bhawan, 3 Institutional Area, Lodi Road, New Delhi – 110003 before the last date.

CAT Foundation Course Exam Pattern
The examination will be held in computer-based (online) mode and there would be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the paper. For the correct answer, marks will be awarded but there will be no negative marking for any wrong answers. There are two papers in 2 sessions in a day –
Paper I – (100 Marks)
There are below 2 sections in the Paper 1 exam which will be conducted in the morning session –
Section A:- Fundamentals of Financial Accounting (60 Marks)
Section B:- Applied Business and Industrial Laws (40 Marks)
Total Questions:- There will be a total of 100 Multiple Choice Questions.
Maximum Marks:- Each Question will carry 1 Mark, so Maximum Marks of this paper is 100.
Paper II – (100 Marks)
Section A: Financial Accounting – 2 (50 Marks)
Section B:- Statutory Compliance (50 Marks)
Total Questions and Maximum marks:- There will be a total of 100 Multiple Choice Questions, carry one mark each. So, the total maximum marks is 100.
ICMAI Standard of Pass
A Candidate of ICMAI CAT Course i.e Foundation Course (Entry Level) Part-I Examination shall be declared to have passed if he secures minimum 40% marks in each paper and an aggregate of 50% of total marks in the examination.
