Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the exam calendar for the year 2019 on its official website. Civil services aspirants who were eagerly waiting to know about UPSC notification for the CSE exam, the wait is over. After the implementation of 10% quota for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in the government jobs and institutions, UPSC will be the first to recruit through Civil Services Exam 2019.
Union Public Service Commission will release the UPSC Civil Services (IAS) 2019 Exam official notification sooner by February 19, 2019. Candidates who are waiting to apply for the post in various government departments can apply for UPSC Civil Services Exam 2019 through the official site of UPS.
The Civil Services Exam 2019 preliminary exam is scheduled to be conducted on June 02, 2019. UPSC will release the notification for the CSE exam on February 19, 2019, and then the application will commence. The last date to fill CSE application form is March 18, 2019. UPSC will conduct the Civil Services Main exam on September 20, 2019.
However, the number of vacancies to be filled through UPSC civil services 2019 is not known. Candidates have to wait for the UPSC CSE notification to know the details of vacancies, exam pattern, eligibility, syllabus and application timeline.
UPSC Civil Services Exam 2018
Last year, UPSC had released the recruitment notification for 782 posts under Civil Services (IAS) 2018 Exam. The last date to fill up the forms was March 06, 2018. The Prelims examination was conducted on June 03, 2018 and around 3 lakhs applicant appeared in the examination of which approx. 10,500 candidates have been selected for the UPSC Civil Services Main Exam.
UPSC Civil Services Main examination was conducted on September 28, 2018. The further shortlisted candidates will appear for UPSC Civil Services Personality test, which is scheduled to be conducted in the month of February and March 2019.
UPSC Civil Services Exam
UPSC Civil Services Exam is conducted by the commission for selection of Grade A officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
The UPSC conducts the Civil Services Exam in two stages – Preliminary (objective-type paper) and Mains (descriptive paper and interview). The Civil Services Preliminary exam is conducted to select candidates for the Mains exam. The candidates who clear the Civil Services Mains exam are inducted in different central government departments as civil servants. More than 10 lakh candidates register for the examination every year.
