CAT January 2019 Exam Time Table and Programme

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India has announced ICMAI CAT January 2019 Exam updated timetable and programme for registered candidates. Earlier this exam was scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2019, in two sessions, due to some reason it is postponed for Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in 2 sessions.

Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) is a short-term Course by ICMAI for 12th (10+2) passed and Under Graduates students. The Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) Course is a Foundation level course of one-year duration.

In the morning session (10:00 A.M to 12:00 P.M ) on January 29, 2019, candidates will appear for Paper I and then afternoon session (02:00 P.M to 4:00 P.M ) they will appear for Paper-II of CMA CAT January 2019 exam.

Last Date for Receipt of Application Form without Late Fee: November 30, 2018


Last Date for Receipt of Application Form with Late Fee of Rs.100/-: December 10, 2018

Date of Exam ICMAI CAT January 2019:  Earlier January 12, 2019, postponed to January 29, 2019 (Tuesday)

Paper-I: 29th January 2019 [Saturday, 10.00 am to 12.00 pm Morning Session]


Paper-II: 29th January 2019 [Saturday, 02.00 pm to 04.00 pm After Noon Session]

ICMAI CAT January 2019 Exam Centres

Examinees will be accommodated to their preferred centre or at the nearest Centre available. Below are the available ICMAI Test Cities –

Ajmer, Alleppey, Bhopal, Bilaspur, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Dhanbad, Durgapur, Erode, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, Hyderabad, Idukki, Indore, Jaipur, Kannur, Kanpur, Kasaragod, Kolkata, Kollam, Kota, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Madurai, Malappuram, Muzaffarpur, Nellore, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Patna, Pudukkottai (TN), Raipur, Rajahmundry, Sri Ganganagar, Surat, Thrissur, Tinsukia, Tirunelveli, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Vellore, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Wayanad.

Exam Pattern for CAT Foundation Course

The examination will be held in computer-based (online) mode and there would be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the examination paper. For the correct response, marks will be awarded but for any wrong answers, there will be no negative marking. There are two papers in 2 sessions in a day –

Paper I – (100 Marks)

Paper 1 exam having 2 sections will be conducted in the morning session –

Section A:- Fundamentals of Financial Accounting (60 Marks)

Section B:- Applied Business and Industrial Laws (40 Marks)

Total Questions:- There will be a total of 100 Multiple Choice Questions.

Maximum Marks:- Each Question will carry 1 Mark, so Maximum Marks is 100.

Paper II – (100 Marks)

Section A: Financial Accounting – 2 (50 Marks)

Section B:- Statutory Compliance (50 Marks)

Total Questions and Maximum marks:- There will be total 100 Multiple Choice Questions, carry one mark each

Standard of Pass

A Candidate of ICMAI CAT Course i.e Foundation Course (Entry Level) Part-I Examination shall be declared to have passed if he secures minimum 40% marks in each paper and an aggregate of 50% of total marks in the examination.
