Top Indian Engineering Colleges, IIT Madras Ranks 1st: NIRF Rankings 2020

Engineering has remained the most sought-after higher education category in India despite the fact that barely 7% of engineering graduates are employable. This is why it is of utmost importance that if you are going to study engineering, you select one of the top Indian Engineering colleges to make your chances of getting a job after graduation much stronger.

Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced the National Institutional Ranking Framework, NIRF Rankings 2020 for the Indian institutions. The annual rankings are usually announced in April month every year, but this year it had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras takes the title of the top engineering college in India. As per the NIRF rankings, the top three engineering colleges in the country are IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay. For the last two years, these three institutes have been securing the same ranks.

National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a methodology adopted by the MHRD, Government of India, to rank all the Indian institutions. Students planning to pursue engineering course can check the top indian engineering colleges and institutes here.
