The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the CA exam Cycle II dates. Candidates who would not be able to appear in ICAI CA November 2020 exam can attempt another exam cycle i.e January/February 2021 session, starting from January 21 onwards.
ICAI announced the examination commencement date for the January 2021 session in an official notification released at icai.org. Earlier, ICAI has introduced an ‘Opt-Out’ scheme for candidates appearing for CA November 2020 Exam.
The announcement uploaded on the official website states that “It is informed that January/February 2021 examination will commence from January 21, 2021, in all cities where exam are currently scheduled for November 2020 Examination. Further details related to the schedule of examination and admit card will be intimated soon after the last date of the “opt-out” scheme i.e December 14, 2020,” read the notice.
The institute will conduct the CA November 2020 exam from November 21 to December 14, 2020. Candidates who themselves or their family members are COVID-19 positive can opt for this new scheme. “If the area in which the student’s residence is located is declared as Containment Zone by the Central Government/State Government/Local Authorities at any time up to the conclusion of exams,” ICAI said.
While understanding the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic, ICAI has already announced that a separate examination will also be conducted from 21st January 2021 besides May 2021 examination. For Students having any impact of COVID-19, ICAI facilitated through announcement wherein he/she can opt-out anytime till the last day of his/her examination and appear in next Examination (January 2021 or May 2021) while also carry forward his/her due exemption and credit of fees. To opt-out, no document is required to be submitted (only self-declaration required) and for that, an online window is facilitated. To opt-out of the November 2020 exam, students will be required to submit a declaration form available at icaiexam.icai.org.
After the declaration is submitted, the candidature of the CA November 2020 exam will be canceled and the candidate will be allowed to in cycle-II or January/February 2021 exam cycle. Students will not be required to apply afresh or pay any fees for November 2020 examination cycle-II.
ICAI CA November 2020 exam will be conducted from November 21 to December 14. The CA Nov 2020 exam admit card has already been released by the institute on its official website. Recently, ICAI informed that due to unavoidable circumstances 30 exam centers for the CA November exam 2020 have made changes. All the examinations will be held in a single shift.
