Common Admission Test, CAT 2017 Admit Card download has been delayed by 7 days. IIM Lucknow, the exam conducting body announced on the website iimcat.ac.in, the CAT 2017 Admit Card would now be available on October 25, 2017 from 1 pm. The earlier date as per the initial schedule was set on October 18, 2017. The registration date was also extended from September 20 to September 25.
Candidates who have applied for the CAT 2017 are accordingly advised to view and download the admit cards from October 25 (1 pm onwards) at iimcat.ac.in. The facility to download the admit card would be open until November 26, 2017. The delay in CAT 2017 Admit Card download facility has put the CAT aspirants in a dilemma as many of their CAT related activities may be affected adversely including the error correction process in the CAT Admit Card details.
CAT 2017 is being conducted by IIM Lucknow on November 26, 2017 in 140 test cities. While the exact and proper reason for the delay in the admit card download facility is not cleared but speculators have hinted on the delay caused by the festivals and regular holidays. Some have even hinted at lack of proper technical support cause the delay. However, there is no confirmation as to the reason behind the CAT 2017 Admit card delay.
Candidates are advised to keep checking iimcat.ac.in for regular updates on the examination. The entrance examination CAT 2017 is being a computer-based (online) test. Common Admission Test is an eligibility test for admission to the flagship management programs at various premium and top-ranked management institutes like Indian Institutes of Management, ISB, ISM and many others management institutions of the country.
Candidates who clear the CAT are not guaranteed admission to IIMs. Every IIM and other institutes have their own eligibility criteria and selection process for admission to management programme.

During the last 4 years, IIMs have resorted to delaying in releasing of CAT Admit Card. This feature has become a regular one since CAT 2014 when TCS took over as CAT testing partner to IIMs.
Dilemma for CAT 2017 Aspirants
This is the MBA entrance exam season and number of Management entrance exams and many other competitive exams are taking place. Since the test center details are still awaited, as they will mark the CAT test centre, CAT Exam time details in CAT 2017 Admit card, so if need to plan to travel for CAT exam, would enhance the difficulty for CAT aspirants to at this stage.
Immediately after CAT 2017 exam, on following Sunday there is IIFT MBA entrance exam and many aspirants also will appear in it. In case the allotted exam cities are different and are not according to the preferred test cities, the travel plan has to be rescheduled. It is not necessary that those coming from far-off places may find timely accommodation in the trains and accommodation of their choice.
Whether you have been allotted the CAT test centre as per your first choice or the subsequent ones from the remaining three, will be cleared only when you view and download your CAT 2017 admit card on October 25.

How to Download CAT 2017 Admit card?
Whether your CAT exam is scheduled in morning time slot or in afternoon, on November 26, 2017 can only be known when you get access to your CAT admit card on October 25. You will have to log onto the CAT website with your registered User ID and password.
Step 1: Go to the official website for CAT 2017 (iimcat.ac.in).
Step 2: Click on the CAT 2017 admit card link flashed on the homepage.
Step 3: A new page will open
Step 4: Enter your registration number and other details in the fields provided
Step 4: Download and take a print out
Check CAT Application Summary
After successful online submission of your CAT 2017 application, You must have received an automated email confirmation. The confirmation email from CAT Centre 2017, will have all the details in your application summary. You should check whether you entered correctly your personal details like your name, father’s and mother’s name, academic qualification among others. Check each of the inserted details and if you find anything is wrong, immediately contact the help desk even before the CAT 2017 Admit card is issued.
Once the CAT 2017 admit card is out and available for download on October 25, there will be a great rush to CAT 2017 help desk and at that time it will be very difficult to get the things corrected within time.

CAT 2017 Exam Pattern
The duration of the test will be 180 minutes. There will be three sections:
Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
Section III: Quantitative Ability (QA)
