Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Calcutta has released the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018 results on January 05, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Candidates who have appeared in CAT 2018 exam can check their results at CAT 2018 official site. The examination was conducted on November 25, 2018, in two sessions.
In CAT 2018 results, 11 candidates have scored an overall 100 percentile, all are male and from engineering and technology background. Out of 11 candidates, 7 are from Maharastra, 2 from West Bengal and 1 each from Bihar and Karnataka. Also, 21 candidates have scored 99.99 percentile, out of which 19 are from Engineering and Technology background. The Indian Express reported that Rounak Majumdar, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has topped CAT 2018 with 100 percentile.
A total of 2,09,405 candidates had appeared for the CAT 2018 exam. The total number of female candidates appeared in CAT 2018 were 73,326 while the number of male test takers was 1,36,075 and 4 were transgenders. CAT exam is a national level management entrance exam conducted for admission to MBA and PGDM programs. Candidates can visit the official site of the mentioned institutes to know more about it.
Some days before the results were made available for a few minutes, but they were removed again. The authorities have stated it to be a technical glitch. The CAT 2018 answer keys were released in December and objections requested.
However, this year onwards, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore are planning to increase their intake by 805 seats from next year. For this year, however, a total of 12,411 seats are available across 20 IIMs in all the courses. The total seats for the PGP program, however, are 4318.

Once CAT 2018 result is out, the participating institutes will release their separate cut off list. Candidates who score equal or more than the cut off marks will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates who will score more than 90 percentile will have doors opened for all the top B-schools in the country. But for candidates who will score less than 90 percentile need to take a look at the top MBA institutes where they can apply.
Steps to Check CAT 2018 Results
- Visit the official site of IIMCAT at iimcat.ac.in
- Click on CAT 2018 Scorecard link displayed on home screen.
- Enter the registration number and password.
- Login to the account.
- Click on ‘Your Result’
- CAT 2018 Scorecard with overall and sectional percentile will be displayed.
- Check your results and keep a hard copy of the same for future use.
Last year, CAT result was released on January 08, 2018. The CAT 2018 Result will help candidates to get admission at various Indian Institutes of Management, IIMs across the country. Candidates can check for more details from the official site of IIMCAT.
