Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that the CA results of the Chartered Accountants (CA) Final Examination held in November 2017 and Common Proficiency Test (CPT) held in December 2017 are likely to be declared on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, around 8:00 pm (earlier it was scheduled for 2:00 pm). AfterGraduation shares the ways to access the CA results and the previous pass percentage of CA CPT and CA Final previous attempts exams.
The result of the Information Systems Audit [ISA] Assessment Test held on December 23, 2017, is also likely to be declared on January 17, 2018, around 2.00 PM at the Institute’s office at New Delhi. The result of the Assessment Test will be available on the Institute’s website.
ICAI will also disclose the merit list (candidates securing a minimum of 55% and above marks and up to the maximum of 50th Rank in the case of Final Examination in accordance with the decision of the Examination Committee) on all India basis. The CA Final November 2017 and CPT December 2017 Results can be obtained through direct login on the official website, Email and SMS options, as provided by ICAI.

To check the result, the candidates will have to enter the Roll Number and PIN Number or Registration Number. Hence, to check the result Roll Number is mandatory but candidates may choose between Registration number or Pin Number.

Through E-mail
The exam conducting body has also invited registration from those candidates of Final Examination and Common Proficiency Test (CPT) who wish to get their result in their mailbox on their e-mail. The registration for this will begin from January 12, 2018, and can be done from the official website icaiexam.icai.org only. The registered candidates will receive their result through email at their e-mail addresses registered on the official website immediately after the declaration of the result. You can also submit your email and phone to receive notification regarding the result.

Through SMS
Apart from this, students of Final Examination and Common Proficiency Test (CPT) held in November/December 2017 can also access their result with marks through SMS. This service is available through India Times. Candidates want to check through SMS medium need to register in advance by sending SMS at 58888. The complete procedure to check the result as mentioned below.
The result card of CA Final and CPT will contain subject wise marks and Pass/Fail Status. It is important to note that the candidates who qualified will be able to download Rank Card within two weeks after the announcement of the result.
The qualifiers of CA Final examination will be certified as proper Chartered Accountant (CA). Whereas, the qualifiers of CPT examination will move forward for their CA dream by applying for the further level of training and Intermediate course (IPCC).
Previous CA Results of CPT
For the CPT results declared for June 2017 attempt, the Pass Percentage was 40.52%. Pass Rate of Male students was 39.96% and Female students were 41.23%. A total of 88,916studentss have appeared for the exam, out of which 36,028 have cleared the exam.

CA CPT Dec 2017 Cut off
Candidates who will appear for CA CPT in December 2017 will need to obtain minimum qualifying marks in order to qualify the entry-level examination of Chartered Accountancy. The CA CPT Exam Result Dec 2017 cut off marks is applicable both section-wise and overall cutoff marks. In order to qualify the CA CPT exam, candidates will need to secure both sectional and overall CA CPT 2017 Cutoff requirement. Cutoff marks are provided in the table below –

What After CPT December 2017 Result
- As per the rules of Chartered Accountants Regulation, 1988, candidates who will qualify Common Proficiency Test will be eligible to be registered for Intermediate (IPC) Course as next level of CA course.
- There are two groups in IPC course. Candidates will need to appear and pass in both Group I and II of IPC course after completion of 9 month study period OR after undergoing 35 hours orientation programme and 100 hours ITT before appearing for the first time in IPCC.
- They will need to join 3 years practical training after passing Group I of IPCE.
- After that comes CA Final Course stage OR candidates will have to appear and qualify Group II of IPCE if not qualified earlier.
- After that, appear and qualify CA Final examination while serving last 6 months of Training under an authorized CA.
- Then undergo 15 days course on General Management and Communication Skills or advanced ICITSS.
- Finally, acquire membership of ICAI.
