The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is launching a Mission “ICSI Giri Sagar Vidhyarthi Vikas Yojana” with a view to develop students in each and every part of India as part of its social responsibility and extending the benefits of ICSI to each and every student.
The prime objective of the scheme is to create visibility of the Institute in the Coastal and Hilly areas wherein the growth potential for the profession is enormous. This unique mission will reach out to the student community and schools/Colleges in the coastal areas/ hilly regions on pan India basis.
The drive will be effective from 1st July 2017 till September 2017 and the students of schools and colleges will be sensitised about the Company Secretary Ship profession. Through this drive, Institute will initially focus on Hilly and Coastal cities as potential growth cities.
Around 300 Cities have been identified for this Project. Members of the Institute will also be participating in this drive of nurturing budding youth of India. Apart from Career Awareness Programmes, scope of opening study centres will also be established to facilitate ICSI existing students in these cities.

CS (Dr.) Shyam Agrawal, President, ICSI said, “Through this upbeat move, the Institute is expecting to empower the students of these cities by creating awareness amongst them about the profession. These cities have abundance of talent and Institute is taking lead in nurturing their talent through this drive. The youth in these areas aspire to work in big corporate companies in key managerial positions. Through this mission, we will be able to guide them to fulfill their dreams and aspirations through the Company Secretary ship course which can be a landmark in their career.”
Shri Makarand Lele, Vice President, The ICSI who has visioned this mission while launching the posters of the scheme stated that, “Through this mission ICSI will look forward to develop and groom young India. Budding youths located in hilly and coastal parts of India will be offered CS as career option. To have focused attention in the first phase, we have identified about 300 Cities. ICSI under this mission will launch specific Career Awareness drive in the months of July, August & September and will offer certain quick online benefits to the young students joining the course.
