The prestigious AACSB Accreditation has been awarded to the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML); Symbiosis International University-Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) Pune; and ICFAI Business School (IBS) Hyderabad. AACSB accreditation is awarded to the institute for its demonstrated focus on excellence in all areas- quality in teaching, research, curriculum development, and student learning.
With these three new accreditations – IIM Lucknow, SCMHRD Pune, and IBS Hyderabad, the total number of Indian B-schools with AACSB accreditation has gone to 14 including 4 AACSB Accredited IIMs.
In its recently released press release, AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) announced that Indian Institute of Management Lucknow; Symbiosis International University– Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development Pune; and ICFAI Business School Hyderabad have earned accreditation along with 8 other B-schools and universities in China, France, and other countries.

AACSB Accreditation has been received by only 5 percent of the world’s B-Schools offering business degrees at the bachelor level or higher. With the latest AACSB Accreditation, a total of 874 institutions across 56 countries and territories have earned and maintained AACSB Accreditation. Furthermore, a supplemental AACSB Accreditation is also maintained by 190 institutions for their accounting programs.
To receive AACSB accreditation, a institute must go through a rigorous, multi-stage review process to get assessed their quality of the educational services on a framework of 15 international standards. These standards ensure continuous improvement and provide focus for schools to deliver on their mission, innovate, and drive impact.
A proper accreditation of the B-School and its programmes from the national or internationally reputed bodies such as the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and Association of MBAs (AMBA), etc is helpful for prospective students and parents to shortlist the best business schools to invest their time and money.
