IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and ISB Hyderabad are listed among the top 100 of the QS Global MBA Rankings 2018.
The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), has released rankings for management institutions under various heads — Global MBA, Masters in Finance, Masters in Management and Masters in Business Analytics.
It is a great news for Indians that three of their institutes have been ranked among the best 100 in the world for their Global MBA Programme while three of their IIMs have been ranked among the best 50 in the world for their Masters in Management Programme.
QS World University Rankings: Global MBA Rankings 2018 features over 230 of the world’s best universities and business schools for studying an MBA.
According to the topuniversities.com, the new MBA ranking will be a vital tool for any business-minded or entrepreneurial aspirants to learn more about the world’s best MBA programs. While Harvard University holds the number 1 position in the list, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad features in the top 50 of the list with IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta not far behind.
The QS Global MBA ranking list covers business schools from over 30 countries with Harvard Business School of Harvard University is named the world’s best provider for Global MBA while two French institutions, INSEAD and HEC Paris, were ranked second and third position respectively.
HEC Paris has secured as the best institution in the world for studying a master’s degree in management in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings: Masters in Management Rankings.

The topuniversities.com states that employability is one of five metrics that has been used to compile the rankings, while the other metrics include entrepreneurship & alumni outcomes, return on investment, thought leadership and diversity.

Earlier in the week, the QS BRICS University rankings were released featuring top 300 varsities from BRICS Nation – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. 7 out of 10 varsities among the top 10 universities are from China, while 2 are from India and 1 is from Russia.
IIT Bombay and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore have made the cut among top 10 BRICS varsities while many others also feature in the rest of the list.
Based on eight performance indicators, namely academic reputation, employer reputation, the proportion of staff with a Ph.D., faculty/student ratio, research publications and citation rates and proportion of international faculty and students, the ranking provides insights into the relative strengths and weaknesses of leading institutions in the BRICS five countries.
After releasing University rankings under a single umbrella, QS is now focusing the rankings for special disciplines as when students look at a university’s rankings, they want to know about programme ranking for which they planned to enrol.
