A record of 111 Business Schools across the globe has participated in the 15th edition of FT Masters in Management 2019 Rankings, up from the 104 B-Schools last year. Indian Institutes of Management, IIM Calcutta is ranked as the best B-School in India. Switzerland’s University of St Gallen has retained the number 1 rank for the ninth successive year of FT Masters in Management 2019 Rankings.
A total of 5 IIMs have been placed in the FT MiM Rankings 2019. Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has emerged as the top B-school in the country followed by IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Udaipur, and IIM Indore.
Globally, IIM Calcutta has ranked at 17, improved 6 positions from its previous 23 rank in 2018. IIM Ahmedabad ranked down from the previous year (2018) ranking of 19 to 21 this year. IIM Bangalore also ranked down from 26 the last year 2018 to 44 in 2019.

FT MiM Ranking Methodology
FT laid down the strict criteria for Business Schools to be eligible for the FT MiM 2019 ranking evaluation. The schools must be either Equis or AACSB accredited and their programmes must be full-time, cohort-based and have a minimum of 30 graduates each year.
The rankings are assessed according to information collected through two separate surveys, the first one is completed by the business schools and the second by alumni who graduated MiM programme in 2016.
The ranking has 17 criteria. Alumni responses inform seven criteria that together contribute 58 per cent of the ranking’s total weight. The remaining 10 criteria are calculated from school data and account for 42 per cent of the weight. A salary increase is the second most important criteria, with a weighting of 10 per cent.
Salary Increase, International course experience, International mobility are the significant criteria among other criteria for the FT MiM ranking.
