Candidates can change the GATE 2019 exam city option till today i.e November 16, 2018. The option for Scribe facility for the PwD candidates is open till today only. An additional fee will be charged for changing the GATE 2019 exam city. The GATE 2019 organizing committee, IIT Madras had activated the window to change the exam city for the candidates who have successfully applied for the GATE 2019.
Candidates can change the options through login the GATE 2019 official website or directly at GOAPS portal. Candidates who belong to the PwD category and have not opted for scribe facility but would like to opt for the scribe can request to GATE 2019 organising Institute through email (gate2019@iitm.ac.in). The deadline for receiving such request is November 16, 2018.
The application form correction of the entrance exam started from September 27. The facility to change GATE exam paper had begun from October 17 till October 24. As per GATE 2019 Important dates shared by IIT Madras, the admit card for GATE 2019 will be released on January 04, 2019. Candidates can check and download the GATE 2019 admit card from GOAPS portal on January 4, 2019.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE 2019 will be conducted on February 2, 3 and February 9 and 10, 2019 by Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) in two shifts forenoon and afternoon and GATE 2019 results would be announced on March 16, 2019.

GATE 2019 Exam will be conducted for 24 subjects including Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Architecture and Planning, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering among other subjects. A new paper Statistics (ST) is added in GATE 2019. A candidate is allowed to appear in only one paper in any one session.
The GATE 2019 exam will be held in selected cities and towns in the country as well as at Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Dubai (UAE), Kathmandu (Nepal) and Singapore.
GATE is conducted every year, for granting admission to post-graduate engineering courses (M.Tech, Direct PhD programs) offered at IITs, IISc and other top engineering colleges. In addition to this GATE scores are also used by various PSUs for recruitment purpose. GATE 2019 score is only valid for three years from the date of announcement of the results.
Steps to Apply Change for GATE 2019 Exam City
- Log on to the official website gate.iitm.ac.in
- On the homepage, click on the link which says, ‘https://appsgate.iitm.ac.in is the only official GATE 2019 online application portal.’
- You will be directed to a new webpage
- Login by filling your details i.e. enrollment number(ID)/Email id and password if you have already registered
- Click on Submit
- Apply for exam city correction
