The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) extends a special Fee Waiver Scheme in CS programme for the students of Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern States till December 31, 2018, with the aim to achieve a growth process in which people from different walks of life can participate and benefit. This is in line with the Government of India latest policy key element ‘inclusive growth’.
The ICSI has launched a Fee Waiver Scheme for students from the North Eastern States of India and Jammu & Kashmir with effect from June 01, 2017, with an objective of the inclusive growth of people from different parts of the country and as part of its social responsibility initiatives.
The Scheme is effective till December 31, 2018. Students registered in Foundation / Executive stages as the case may be till December 31, 2018, shall only be entitled to fees waiver benefit under this Scheme.
The fee waiver scheme for students “स्वावलम्बन – समग्र शिक्षा, समग्र विकास” will provide an opportunity to the youth of these States to come to the mainstream and fulfil their dreams. The Government of India is already making conscious efforts in improving the infrastructure in these areas and the Institute is doing its bit for the development of society at large.
This fee waiver scheme will cover all students registering for the Foundation and Executive Programme Stages from North Eastern States (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura & Sikkim) and state of Jammu & Kashmir.

While registering for Foundation Programme and Executive Programme Stage respectively, all students belonging to these States who have passed the 10+2 Examinations or Bachelor’s Degree Examinations /CPT of ICAI/Foundation pass of ICAI-COST irrespective of the percentage of marks shall be eligible for Fee Waiver Scheme while registering for Foundation Programme and Executive Programme Stage respectively.
Under this scheme, the benefits of this scheme shall be given only to the Students having an address and valid identity proof of the respective States covered under this scheme. All such Students who are willing to register under this scheme are required to register online at ICSI official website without remitting any registration fees. Education plays a vital role in the inclusive development of society and the ICSI is playing a pioneering role in the field of education for many decades. The Institute, in line with the initiatives of the Government of India by focusing on the development of North Eastern States, has come up with a Fee Waiver Scheme for the students of these states for pursuing the Company Secretaries profession.

Through this proactive move, the Institute is expecting to empower the students of these States. There is abundant talent among the new generation and there is a need to provide ample opportunities to them. It is the responsibility of institutions like ICSI to offer a level playing field for such students who are not able to catch up with their counterparts in the mainstream.
