The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has introduced major changes in the Company Secretary (CS) Curriculum. The ICSI has discontinued the CS Foundation programme and entry to the course of Company Secretary programme will now take place through CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET).
Earlier in September 2019, while proposing the new curriculum the ICSI had stated that the students pursuing the CS programme should possess the requisite level of aptitude and skills and become successful professionals to meet the expectations of the stakeholders.
The CSEET is a mandatory qualifying test for the students of all the categories for registration to the Executive Programme of the Company Secretary course. Candidates who have qualified the class 12 examination can also appear for the CSEET programme.
Those candidates joining for the CS programme after completing the graduation and postgraduation were to clear only two stages of the CS programmes – Executive and Professional.
