The application process for the BARC Recruitment Through GATE Score for DGFS/OCES post has started from December 26, 2018. The last day to register for BARC Recruitment through GATE Score is January 31, while submission of the online application can be done till February 01, 2019.
Candidates having GATE 2018/GATE 2019 (applied for) scorecard can apply for the programmes like Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES) and for DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates (DGFS).
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has commenced the recruitment process for above-mentioned opportunities through GATE Score. Non-GATE students can also apply for the programmes by appearing for an online test which will be conducted during March 9 to 15, 2019.
GATE qualified candidates will have to upload their GATE scores by April 1, 2019, for BARC recruitment through GATE. BARC Programmes
1: OCES-2019 (Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates) is a one year programme conducted at the five BARC Training Schools situated at Mumbai, Kalpakkam, Indore and Hyderabad.
2: DGFS-2019 (DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates) is a two-year programme where selected candidates who have excelled in the Selection Interviews for the BARC Training Schools’ programs and who have also independently secured admission for M. Tech. / M. Chem. Engg. in select Institutes and specializations. Stipend and tuition fee are paid to pursue an M. Tech. / M. Chem. Engg. degree while retaining their employment in DAE.
After completion of one-year course work at the Institute, DGFS Fellows undertake project work assigned by DAE and supervised jointly by a DAE and an Institute guide.

Eligibility Criteria for BARC Recruitment Through GATE Score
The willing candidates can apply for the recruitment process of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre for the programmes of OGFS and DGFS if they are having the valid scores of GATE 2018 or GATE 2019 examination.
Below given are some points which will let you know about eligibility criteria.
- Candidates can only apply if he/she having the valid scores in GATE 2018 or GATE 2019.
- Candidates need to have a B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engineering) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech. graduation degree from a reputed college or university with an aggregate of 60%.
- Only Indian citizens can apply for this recruitment process.
- The candidates who are in their final year of the graduation can also apply for the recruitment process.
- Age Limit for – the maximum age to apply for General category is 26 years, for OBC category – 29 years and for applicant belongs to SC/ST category is 31 years.

BARC Recruitment Through GATE Application Process
The online application forms for BARC recruitment through GATE is released on December 26, 2018. The process of filling the application forms is online; the candidates who want to apply for the recruitment can apply by registering on the official website of BARC.
Filling the Application Form-
- Eligible Candidates have to register themselves by login through the official website of BARC.
- The candidates applying on the basis of their GATE score must enter the score they ranked in the exam.
- Candidates have to fill all the details requisite in the form and follow the instructions mentioned.
- Candidates can pay the application fees online through Debit/Credit card or Net Banking. The application form fees are mentioned in the table given below.

Documents to be Attached with Application Form-
Scanned copy of Photograph (Passport size), signature of the candidate, class X certificate or date of birth certificate, GATE Score document, qualifying degree and mark sheet, Caste Certificate (if applicable), PwD Certificate (If applicable) are required while applying online. All documents should not exceed 50 KB in size and should be in JPG format.
Selection Process BARC Recruitment 2019
- The BARC will select its candidates through GATE scores and online test score.
- The Shortlisted candidates will be called for the next selection round i.e Personal Interview (PI). Those candidates have to attend the interview along with their testimonials in originals and set of copies.
- The selected candidates in PI can join BARC as “Scientific Officer”.
Pay Scale & Stipend:
Pay Scale: Candidates will be taken as a Scientific Officer ‘C’ (SO/C) in Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix – Rs. 56,100.
The Monthly emoluments (with three increments) at the time of joining including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance. In addition, other Allowances such as Leave Travel Concession (LTC) by air, every year up to first eight years (subject to conditions) and once in two years thereafter, Children’s Education and Professional Update Allowance are also payable.
Stipend Details: During the period of the Training OCES TSOs and DGFS Fellows are paid a stipend of Rs 35,000 per month and a one-time book allowance of Rs 10,000. DGFS Fellows will be reimbursed with the tuition fee for M.Tech. / M.Chem.Engg. and a one-time Contingency Grant of Rs 25,000 to meet M.Tech. / M.Chem.Engg. project related expenses are additionally paid.
