MBA Entrance Exam Conducted on Eligibility Criteria Exam Pattern Admission Procedure
CAT (COMMON ADMISSION TEST last week of November A minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks is required for General Category candidates in graduation in any discipline from a recognised institute. An aggregate of 45 per cent marks is required for SC, ST, OBC and DA categories. The final year students can also apply if they submit the required documents before some fixed date. The exam has 3 sections, with an hour  for each section. The questions are multiple choice as well as short answer type.CAT  has the following sections: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Verbal & Reading Comprehension. Each correct asnwer carries three marks. There will be negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer in multiple choice objective type questions. For the non-MCQs ,there will not be any negative marking A cut off list is released and the cut off for different IIMs vary. The criteria vary from IIM to IIM for shortlisting. Other further rounds such as  PI,GD,essay writing may be held depending on the IIM.A final merit list is made on the basis of various score factors such as GD,PI,work experience etc.
XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

 

It is conducted in the first week of January.

 

A Bachelor’s degree of minimum of 3 years duration is a must. The students studying in Final year can also apply if they complete the degree by June,2020 XAT 2020 will be conducted online, i.e it is a computer based test. There are 4 sections in the test, these sections are Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge.There are a total of 100 questions. 0.25 marks is deducted for each wrong answer. Gk section will have no negative score.One mark is awarded for correct answer After the cut off score is cleared by the candidate,there arefurther selection rounds. Some institutes have both GD (Group Discussion) and PI (Personal Interview) rounds, while others may only have either of the two.
IIFT (INDIAN INSTITUTE OF FOREIGN TRADE)

 

It is held in the 4th/5th week of November.

 

A Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline from some recognized institute. The duration pf the exam is of two hours having and has objective questions from the following sections: 1. English Comprehension, 2. Logical Reasoning, 3. Quantitative Analysis, 4. General Knowledge & Awareness. The number of questions may vary from 100-140. The marking scheme in each section is different. Those who have cleared the cut off,are called for Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Essay Writing for final selection.
SNAP (SYMBIOSIS NATIONAL APTITUDE TEST)

 

It is conducted in the mid of December every year.

 

At  least 50 per cent marks in graduation is required to be eligible for appearing in examination. Final year graduation students can also apply if they present the required documents on or before the mentioned date. The testis of two hours duration and is an objective test. Each wrong answer deducts  25 per cent negative marks. General English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, Logical & Analytical Reasoning are the four sections. Candidates will be shortlsited on the cutoffs released by the institute . Shortlisted candidates will have to go through Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview rounds. Final merit list will be released by Symbiosis International University .
NMAT By GMAC

 

Bachelor’s Degree is a must in any discipline from a recognised University.Also a minimum 50 per cent marks is required. The test is a computer-based test and is of two hours duration .It has multiple-choice questions . The sections in the examination  are Language Skills; Quantitative Skills, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency; and Logical Reasoning. Each correct answer will carry one mark. No negative marks would be given for wrongly attempted question. On the basis of the NMAT Score, Written Test marks (as applicable), Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Presentation (as applicable) and work experience,a final merit list is prepared on the basis of which selection is done.
CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)

 

The test is organized at the last week of January.

 

A  minimum 50 per cent marks in aggregate is required for General category candidates and 45 per cent for reserved category candidates from a recognized institute. Final year Bachelor’s Degree students can also apply. CMAT is a computer based test and has 100 multiple choice questions.There are four sections: Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation and General Awareness. Each section has 25 questions. Four marks fetched for each correct answer .There is also a minusmarking of one mark for each wrong answer.

 

Shortlisted candidates from the cut off appear for Group Discussion (GD) or Essay Writing and Personal Interview rounds. There is no common counselling process for CMAT.
IBSAT (IBS APTITUDE TEST)

 

IBSAT exam is organized in or after the third week of December.

 

Graduates with a minimum of 50 per cent from a recognized English medium institute. The test is of two hours duration .The questions are asked from sections such as Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation, Data Adequacy, Vocabulary, Analytical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. The test is held online and has MCQs. Candidates who are selected on the basis of the cut offs are Shortlisted for further rounds such as Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Final selection is done on the basis of score in IBSAT and GD-PI and past academic records.
IRMA Issues of Social Concern

 

IRMA and other activities concerned is conducted from 2nd to 3rd week of February.

 

The candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate of minimum three years duration for General category candidates. For the reserved category candidates, it is 45 per cent. Candidates also have to appear in CAT or XAT or both.

 

The test is of 80 minutes duration and is online mode. There is only one section, Issues of Social Concern. This section has 40 objective type multiple choice questions on General Knowledge. The topics are rural development, agriculture, government policies etc. One mark given for each correct answer and there is a deduction of one-fourth marks for each wrong answer. After clearing the cutoff, candidates participate in Group Activities and Personal Interview rounds. In the Final selection, scores is based on CAT or XAT scores also play an important role. The weightage is as follows:

  • CAT/XAT scores (40)
  • GA & PI (25 each)
  • IRMA entrance test (10).

 

 

MICAT The test is conducted twice in a session,i.e in the first or second week of December and February. Candidates should be graduates. , this can be in any discipline from a recognised institute. Final year graduation students may also apply. Applicants must have appeared in at least one of the tests like CAT, XAT and GMAT. MICAT is a computer based test of 2.45 hours duration carrying approximately 120 to 145 subjective and objective questions. The areas or sections of MICAT include Descriptive Test on Essay/Story Writing, Psychometric Test, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness and Divergent and Convergent Thinking. For Descriptive and Psychometric Test, there is no negative marking scheme. But for the rest of the sections,0.25 is deducted for wrong anwer. Psychometric Test is mandatory to attempt .

 

candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in MICAT. Shortlisted candidates will have go through other rounds such as Group Exercise and Personal Interview rounds. Final merit list is prepared on the basis of performance in MICAT, CAT/XAT/GMAT, GE and PI. Maximum score weight is given to MICAT scores.

 

MAHARASHTRA MBA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST

 

MAH CET is held 2 days in the second week of March A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50 per cent marks of a minimum of three years programme. The duration of the test is of 150 minutes duration and consists  of 200 objective type questions. Questions are from topics such as: Logical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability/Reading Comprehension. There is no negative marks for wrong or unattempted answer. The candidates are called for the counselling on the basis of the marks scored by the candidates.

 

AIMA-MAT (MANAGEMENT APTITUDE TEST)

 

The exam dates are different for both online and offline modes. Nevertheless, both are held in the 4th week of February.

 

A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university is required, though, Final year degree course students can also apply.

 

The test is of 2.5 hours and can be held on offline or online mode as per the aspirant’s comfort. There are a total of five papers: Paper 1: Language Comprehension, Paper 2: Mathematical Skills, Paper 3: Data Analysis, Paper 4: Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, Paper 5: Indian & Global Environment Section. Each paper has 40 questions for a total of 200 Questions.  Each correct answer fetches one mark. There is 1/4 negative marking of the allotted marks for each wrong answer The score tells you the relative position(candidate with respect to the other candidates percentile) of the candidate. A final composite score is given. This score is used to apply to various management institutes accepting MAT scores. The participating institutes also hold  Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds for further selection.
ATMA (AIMS TEST FOR MANAGEMENT ADMISSIONS) The test is conducted in the last week of May Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university. ATMA test has six sections: Analytical, Verbal and Logical Reasoning.  Each section has separate time. There are a total of 180 questions. The total time of the test is 180 minutes.

 

Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their test scores and participating institutes’ cutoff. For the further selection procedure, GD and PI is conducted and a final merit list is released on the basis of score in GD, PI and ATMA.
TISSNET Every year the test is organized on or before the second week of January. A Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized institute is a must. Final year students can also apply It is an online examination. The questions are objective in nature and are asked from four sections namely General Knowledge, English Proficiency, Analytical Ability, and Logical Reasoning. One mark is rewarded for every correct answer. There is no negative marking. The total time duration is 100 minutes. Aspirants who will clear the cut off will be selected for further rounds of the selection procedure. These further rounds include Pre-Interview test and Personal Interview. The institute then announces the final list of selected students.
