CLAT 2021 Organising Members Elected, Prof. Vijender Kumar Announced as CLAT 2021 Convener

The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has announced the organizing members for CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2021. In the recently held annual meeting of CNLU, the Governing Body appointed Prof. Vijender Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur as the convener of CLAT 2021.

The Governing Body unanimously elected Prof Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor of National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) Hyderabad has been elected as the President and Prof. Poonam Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, NLU Jodhpur, as the new Vice President of the Consortium of National Law Universities.

V.C Vivekanadan, Vice-Chancellor, Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur has also been elected as a member of the Executive Committee for CLAT 2021.

The members also thanked Prof Balraj Chauhan, Convener of CLAT 2020, for successfully completing the process in an unprecedented year of Covid-19. The new executive committee will soon meet to finalise the details about CLAT 2021.

About CLAT 2021


The Common Law Admission Test is a national level entrance exam for admissions to graduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law courses offered by National Law Universities (NLUs) and other top Law Schools in the country. CLAT is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities consisting of the representative universities.

Out of the 23 National Law Universities (NLUs) in the country, 22 are admitting students through CLAT. The candidates who are appearing for the CLAT exam can also apply for Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

CNLU conducts the CLAT exam every year around the first or second week of May. The application form of CLAT 2021 is expected to be released in the first week of January at the official website of CNLU. Last year, the consortium announced major changes in the CLAT 2020 paper by changing its structure and introducing comprehension based questions.
