Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD)’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019 is released today, April 08, 2019 by the President of India to rank the Indian Educational Institutes. President Ramnath Kovind released the NIRF Ranking 2019 in 9 categories which included Overall, Universities, Engineering, Colleges, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Architecture, and Law.
IITs dominated major categories like Overall Higher Institute, Engineering and Architecture. In the Overall category of Higher Institutes, IIT Madras ranked first followed by IISc Bangalore and IIT Delhi. According to officials, more than 4000 institutes had submitted their data for NIRF ranking this year.
IIT Madras topped the Engineering Institutes while IIT Kharagpur was ranked as the best in the Architecture category. IIM Bangalore declared as the Management top Institute. Meanwhile, IISc Bangalore was the top University in India according to NIRF 2019 rankings.
NIRF 2019 is the fourth edition of NIRF India Rankings from Ministry of HRD. NIRF was approved by the MHRD and first launched by Minister of Human Resource Development on September 29, 2015.
